Agreeing to an interview without using her name and a photograph shot only from the side, this homeless woman is at the YMCA shelter on Tamiami Trail in Bradenton, Florida on a warm November afternoon. Very vocal about COVID-19 and how it spreads she told me this: "If people would start listening to what the experts are saying, we might have a chance at saving a few lives. I am so tired of people who don't mask up and follow the advice we are given on how to stop the spread of this virus. I have not been personally affected, but I do follow the advice about hand washing and wearing a mask. I am mostly outdoors anyway, and stay away from everyone. I will not go in the shelter for fear of getting sick, but they do give us food."

Napping on a bus stop bench located on Tamiami Trail in Bradenton, Florida, with her possessions within reach, Rose woke up when I stopped my car to interview her. "Yes, I know about COVID, but I don't have it. I stay away from everyone."
